Oldest building from the 16th century

The oldest building dates back to 1569 and most of the houses were built in the 18th and 19th centuries. A highlight are four old windmills, which are put into operation at selected times.
Dive into the past
In several craft workshops such as a bakery, a basketry, a smoked cottage or a pottery, work is sometimes done again. Cattle, goats, sheep, chickens

When the ice melted
The idyllic landscape was created during the last ice age around 10,000 to 15,000 years ago. When the ice melted, the water collected in the beds of the glacial rivers. Today there are about 200 lakes in the region. The moor frog, the otter, the great crested grebe and the heron duck live in the floodplain landscapes. There are also grey geese and with a bit of luck kingfishers and white-tailed eagles to be seen.
Letters to the Bridegroom Oaks
